Nourish yourself with mindfulness practices as you connect with true well-being in these challenging times.

Awakening Joy includes exciting themes and practices that incline the mind toward well-being and deeper insight.

You will learn how to:

• make happiness a habit by inclining your mind toward states that lead to well-being
• find joy even during difficult times and avoid the pitfalls that prevent you from achieving the contentment you seek
• cultivate effective practices for sustaining joyfulness, such as reclaiming your natural sense of wonder and finding joy in the midst of everyday experiences

I will be offering this as a free study program in collaboration with my mentor, James Baraz, a well-known mindfulness meditation teacher and co-founder of the world-renowned Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. I am currently enrolled in his Awakening Joy teacher training program.

As part of my requirements, I am to lead a group concurrently with the program and share outcomes in my mentoring teacher trainee sessions. Also at the end, feedback will be requested by group members in regard to myself as a teacher. It is not necessary to enroll in James’ online program as I will be facilitating the program with you.

All that would be required is James’ book Awakening Joy: 10 Steps That Will Put You on the Road to Real Happiness and a commitment to meet every other week from February through June 2021. Additionally, I would hope that you would embrace the mindfulness practices we will be learning in the program and share what you are learning from the reflective exercises.

From a heart of service, I desire to offer this freely to anyone who would like to join. I have taken the Awakening Joy course a few years ago and it was rich and inspiring and continues to assist me on my mindful living and spiritual path.

The meetings will be every other Friday from February through June. Our first meeting will be on Friday, February 5th at 12 pm-1:30 pm Central Time.
